VECHÉN Formula

The Formula

Eleven ingredients. Every one accountable.

A full 10g of marine collagen per serving, with hyaluronic acid, vitamin C and a complete B-complex. Here is exactly what's in STRUCTURA, how much of each, and the role of every nutrient we can stand behind.

What Collagen Actually Is

The most abundant protein in your body.

Collagen is a structural protein — the scaffolding that holds the body together. It makes up approximately 30% of total body protein mass and is found in skin, tendons, ligaments, cartilage, bone, blood vessels and the gut lining.

The body produces collagen naturally, but production peaks in your mid-twenties and declines roughly 1% per year after that. By 40, most people have lost 15–20% of their peak production. This is general biology, not a claim about STRUCTURA.

Most people in 2026 also eat relatively little connective tissue — the traditional dietary source of collagen. Bone broth, skin-on meat, offal — these have largely disappeared from modern diets. STRUCTURA addresses that gap directly, at a full and fully disclosed dose.

Collagen Types

Not all collagen is the same.

There are at least 28 types of collagen in the human body. Marine collagen is predominantly Type I and III — here's how those compare to the type most associated with joint cartilage.

Type I In STRUCTURA

Most abundant · Primary target

Type I collagen is the most abundant in the human body — accounting for around 90% of total collagen. It is predominant in skin, bone, tendon and ligament.

Type III In STRUCTURA

Found alongside Type I · Skin & vessels

Found alongside Type I in skin, blood vessel walls and the gut lining.

Type II Not in STRUCTURA

Joint cartilage · Not our target

The primary component of joint cartilage, mostly found in bovine collagen supplements. STRUCTURA uses marine collagen, predominantly Type I and III.

Collagen as Protein
10g
Of collagen per serving

Each serving of STRUCTURA provides 10g of hydrolysed marine collagen (93% protein, ~9.3g protein), absorbed as di- and tripeptides.

The powder is 92.3g protein per 100g — around 88% of its energy from protein — which qualifies it for an authorised “high in protein” nutrition claim.

A note on completeness

Collagen is not a complete protein — it lacks tryptophan, one of the nine essential amino acids. STRUCTURA is a targeted collagen supplement, not a meal replacement. For complete amino-acid coverage, pair it with a varied diet that includes eggs, fish, legumes or dairy. A dedicated VECHÉN protein is in development.

The Amino Acid Profile

What marine collagen is made of.

Marine collagen has a distinctive amino-acid profile, rich in the amino acids that build collagen's structure. The composition, as facts:

Glycine

~33% of collagen

The smallest amino acid and the most abundant in collagen by weight.

Glycine does not occur in large amounts in most modern diets, which tend to be low in connective tissue. STRUCTURA is a source of it.

Pairs well with

Vitamin C-rich foods — bell peppers, citrus, kiwi — complement the vitamin C already in STRUCTURA, which contributes to normal collagen formation.

Proline

~12% of collagen

One of the amino acids that form the collagen triple helix structure.

Proline is hydroxylated with the help of vitamin C, already included in the STRUCTURA formula.

Pairs well with

Vitamin C-rich foods at the same meal — bell peppers, kiwi, citrus, broccoli.

Glutamic Acid

~11% of collagen

A non-essential amino acid present in collagen.

Part of the overall amino-acid composition that makes up marine collagen.

Pairs well with

A varied diet with a range of protein sources — eggs, fish, legumes, dairy.

Alanine

~11% of collagen

A non-essential amino acid present in collagen.

Part of the overall amino-acid composition that makes up marine collagen.

Pairs well with

Complex carbohydrates — oats, sweet potato, brown rice — as part of a varied diet.

A note for plant-based and flexitarian customers.

STRUCTURA contains marine collagen sourced from fish. It is not vegan, and we will not dress that up. If you are strictly vegan, STRUCTURA is not suitable for you — and we respect that entirely.

If you are flexitarian, pescatarian or mostly plant-based, STRUCTURA fits naturally — collagen does not occur in the plant kingdom, so it fills a genuine dietary gap. Pair it with a varied diet for complete nutrition:

Bell peppers, citrus, kiwi Vitamin C, which contributes to normal collagen formation — complementing the vitamin C already in STRUCTURA
Legumes, tofu, tempeh Complete amino acid coverage alongside STRUCTURA's targeted structural protein
Pumpkin seeds, chickpeas Zinc — part of a varied, balanced diet
Spinach, lentils, tofu Iron — part of a varied, balanced diet
Kimchi, kefir (if dairy), sauerkraut Part of a varied, balanced diet
WHY A FULL DOSE
10g
The full, disclosed dose

Many collagen supplements deliver 3,000–5,000mg per serving — some less. STRUCTURA provides a full 10g of hydrolysed marine collagen, with every milligram listed on the label. No proprietary blends, no rounding.

We pair that full dose with 180mg of vitamin C, which contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of skin, bones and cartilage — the only collagen-related claim UK rules allow us to make.

Why we don't make mechanism claims

Collagen itself carries no authorised health claim in the UK — so we don't describe what it does in the body beyond the facts: a full 10g dose, every serving, fully disclosed.

Molecular Weight

Size, plainly.

Collagen peptides are measured in Daltons — a unit of molecular weight. Hydrolysis breaks whole collagen down into much smaller peptides.

STRUCTURA's peptides are around 4000 Daltons — a typical molecular weight for hydrolysed marine collagen, kept consistent batch to batch.

The Full Formula

Eleven ingredients. Every one accountable.

01

Hydrolysed Marine Collagen Peptides

10g per serving · ~4000 Dalton · responsibly sourced

Cold-hydrolysed marine collagen, made from fish skins — a by-product of the seafood industry — using both wild-caught (non-endangered) and responsibly farmed fish. Certified by responsibly sourced. Reduced to peptides of around 4000 Daltons, kept consistent batch to batch.

This is the foundation of the formula, at a full and fully disclosed dose. Everything else exists alongside it.

02

Hyaluronic Acid

25mg per serving

A glycosaminoglycan naturally present in the body. Included at 25mg per serving.

Hyaluronic acid is described here as an ingredient, not credited with an effect — it carries no authorised UK health claim.
